Building Reliable, Scalable and Automated Software Delivery Systems.
My name is Vuyisile (pronounced voo-yee-sea-lay). I’m a freelance DevOps Engineer from Zimbabwe. I started out as a Python developer and quickly found my way into DevOps, where I now help teams ship faster by building infrastructure that’s reliable, secure and easy to maintain. My focus is on providing practical infrastructure solutions that are secure, automated and easy to deploy.
Need help with your infrastructure? Let’s talk.
What I Do
I make, build, manage, secure and optimise cloud and on-premise infrastructure. This involves handling day to day operations that keep your systems dependable.

Recent Projects
Cloud Infrastructure for a SaaS Application — spotonrent.com

Challenge: Client needed a simple, cost-effective and secure environment with hands-free deployment for a growing user base.
Solution: Set up server infrastructure in the Vultr cloud with automated backups, DNS, HTTPS, a reverse proxy, and automated deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Impact: Daily deployments in under 5 mins without downtime.
Website Recovery from Deployment Issues in Docker Environment

A client’s website experienced downtime due to deployment issues involving Python and Django configuration within a Docker environment. I quickly diagnosed the root cause, reconfigured the environment and resolved the issues, restoring the website to full functionality.
Impact: Minimised downtime and also ensured the deployment pipeline was stabilised for future releases.
FHIR Server Provisioning for a Healthcare Startup
Challenge: A healthcare startup needed a secure, standards-compliant way to store and exchange and have visibility into clinical data using FHIR.
Solution: I provisioned and configured a HAPI FHIR server in their on-premises environment, installed PgAdmin to interact with the Postgres data, setup HTTPS, firewalls, access controls and automated deployments from BitBucket.
Impact: The team could now handle clinical data securely and build on a reliable infrastructure foundation.
Testimonials
I’ve collaborated with diverse teams across various industries, whether I’m working with solo founders, start ups or non profits, I deliver solutions that meet requirements. I have a 100% Job Success Score on UpWork, which speaks to my dedication to client work.

Don’t just take my word for it, this is what some of the people I’ve worked with have to say:
Followed the timelines strictly and helped us with the documentation of all the steps involved.
Mr. Vu has good conceptual clarity. He followed the timelines strictly and helped us with the documentation of all the steps involved.
I would classify him as an excellent developer
Vuyisile has an ability to see the full picture, he always sees the
business logic and writes code not just
by rote but to conform with the application’s (and user’s)
requirements. I would classify him as an
excellent developer, often producing results way beyond
expectations. He has a great working relationship with his team members and leaders, fitting in comfortably with colleagues and management alike.
I am in fact, more than a little envious of whoever hires him next, you’re going to get a cracking new team member!
